Do you ever wonder why when you clean the house yourself it takes all day, but when you hire a professional cleaning service they can knock it out in a couple hours (house size specific of course)? Below we share some of our tips, the same cleaning strategies we use daily to make homes all over Burbank and the surrounding San Fernando Valley sparkling clean.
1. Wear the proper clothes
When you get ready to clean the house start off by wearing clothes that you are comfortable in. It is important that you can freely move and that you do not have to worry about your clothes getting dirty.
2. Have the proper tools
Trying to clean with the wrong tools will only cause you to be frustrated and less effective. Before you start cleaning your house of office, make sure you have the basic tools required to get the job done quickly and effectively.
3. Remove the clutter
As you start your cleaning session throw out or remove major obstacles that will complicate your efforts. That stack of papers on the counter, or pile of boxes waiting to be taken to the dump. They all need to go. How can you effectively wipe counters, vacuum floors, mop floors, or clean windows if they are covered?
4. Have a plan
Professional cleaners have a plan. They know what rooms and what services they are responsible for. Before you start, decide what your goal is, maybe the whole house, or maybe just a room. Either way create a plan and then stick to it. For example let us say the floors are sticky and need to be mopped, well mop all the floors before you put the mop away. Or maybe the kitchen is the one space you really want cleaned. Start and finish in the kitchen before moving onto another space. This way if you run out of energy at least you finished and can enjoy one clean room or space.
5. Recruit a team
A key reason cleaning companies clean faster than you do, beyond their day to day experience and efficiency, is that they show up with a team. Recruit roommates, or family members to help with the process. Having at least one other person will cut down the time it takes and help you build quick momentum. Plus, once you are done cleaning you will have someone to celebrate your efforts with.
6. DO NOT DO IT - OUTSOURCE IT
